Marine Service Engineer 2A  
SCOPE: Under limited supervision this position is responsible for the installation, test and repair of Sperry Marine products under tight shipboard schedules working independently at times. The incumbent applies knowledge of electronics and circuitry to complete a variety of technical tasks. Complex schematics and/or blueprints are utilized to achieve objective for assigned tasks. Installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and tests marine products as set forth below, normally aboard customers' vessels but including land-based and shop work. Oversees and supervises the shipboard installation of all Sperry Marine products. Stays with installed product during sea trial and makes adjustments to ensure proper working order. Performs training aboard ship to satisfy customer operational requirements. Establishes and maintains customer relationships through routine visitations and contacts at customers' offices and vessels.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate's Degree and minimum of 5 years of experience in electro-mechanical repair/install experience in the marine industry. Proficient on mechanical and electronic equipment preferably including: Gyrocompasses, Inertial Navigators, Steering Controls, Speed Logs, Radars, Satcoms, navigation sensors, Integrated Bridge and other systems. Candidates will be required to obtain an FCC License with Radar adn GMDSS Endorsements. Candidates must be able to carry up to 50lbs. to shipboard service and able to take launch service 5 to 100 miles offshore and board by Jacob's ladder. Candidates must be able to successfully obtain and maintain U.S. Secret Security Clearance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

A Bachelor's Degree in Electronics is preferred. MULTIPLE POSITIONS. Security Clearance Required.
