Title: Systems Engineer IV (Project Engineer)
We currently seek an expert practitioner of systems engineering for an opening in the cutting edge Unmanned Aircraft industry. The successful candidate will work for one of the leading providers of Unmanned Aircraft Vehicles and technologies for the U.S. Army as well as U.S. Marine Corps. Description / Scope:
Our client is a leading aerospace and defense manufacturing firm in Northern Baltimore County, Maryland. They are currently a major developer and producer of unmanned aerial vehicles. They employ more than 2,000 people and report annual sales in excess of $350 million.
Deliverables and Activities:
As a Lead Systems Engineer:
•Responsible for requirements management from performance level down to allocating derived requirements to the various system components
•Technical management of subcontractors
•Interface with the customer
•Support system testing
As a Project Engineer:
•Responsible for technical co-ordination of all engineering groups assigned to a program
•Responsible for Cost and Schedule management, and Personnel supervision
•Be familiar with Requirements Management Tools, EVMS (Earned Value Management Systems), and processes used in the test and qualification of military aircraft systems
Duration:
6 month contract to Perm
Salary:
Compensation is dependent upon experience and education, but successful candidates can expect an hourly range of $45-57 for the contract, and a permanent salary range of 85-105k.

Eligibility / Clearance
Candidate must be a clearable US Citizen (Active Secret clearance preferred)
Required Skills:
•Proficient user of:

oMS Office

oMS Project or equivalent
•Experience with design for standards (i.e. Mil-Std-810, Mil-Std-461, DO-178, etc)
•Effective written and oral communication
•Ability to:
oWork in groups
oConduct functional analysis
oDevelop system design descriptions and solutions
oDefine concept of operations
oDevelop systems design solutions
oDesign system and subsystem architectures
oCreate and maintain interface specifications
oDevelop performance specifications
oWrite subcontractor statements of work and develop junior staff
•Lead medium size groups (5-10)***
Preferred Skills:
•Aviation and/or military equipment development experience
•CMMI experience
•Masters degree
Required Experience:
•Approximately 9 years
•Bachelors Degree from an accredited school in Engineering, Physics, or degree related discipline (or equivalent experience)
