JOB REQUIREMENTS

PKI Lead Engineer

Description:

Will serve as a PKI Lead Engineer planning, analyzing, integrating, deploying and supporting the Army's enterprise architecture that supports DOD smartcard, DOD PKI, biometrics, and other emerging identity management enabling technologies and devices. Will conduct lab testing of various DOD smartcards, readers, middleware, and DOD PKI enabled identity management technologies on various end-user, desktop, server, gateway, and personal digital assistant devices.

Other responsibilites include conducting testing of network infrastructure components needed to utilize security features inherent in DOD smartcards, DOD PKI, biometric interfaces, and physical access control systems; provides certification and accreditation documentation in accordance with AR 25-2 and DODI 8510.01; prepares Army correspondence, memorandums, information papers, executive summaries, weekly summaries, meeting minutes, and briefs.

Candidate will serve as a Project Lead or Desktop Public Key (PK)-Enabling, to include such areas as middleware, certificate validation, and the DoD’s PK Infrastructure. Candidate will serve as a primary Army POC interfacing with key industry partners that support Desktop Enabling. Candidate will provide program guidance and oversight over development of the Army’s OCSP architecture. Candidate will need to closely integrate with counterparts in other Army organizations and Services, and interface with several testing assets within Army, DISA, and DoD.

Candidate must have a minimum of 7+ yrs of technical security experience with PKI implementation, middleware, and certificate validation services are required. Experience and knowledge with both the DoD and the Army’s CAC/PKI Implementations are strongly preferred. The candidate should understand DoD CAC/PKI issues and be able to communicate these issues to both technical and non-technical seniors, subordinates and peers.

Provide suggestions to improve existing processes or create new ones, where necessary, to improve the security posture of the enterprise or streamline business processes. Perform other duties or responsibilities as directed from time to time by the Client or Program Manager.

The work hours are typically 0800-1700 or 0830-1730 (with a max one hour lunch break), or 0800-1630 (with a max 30 minute lunch break). The client site is Crystal City, VA.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Minimum Requirements:

Qualifications:

* Strong Windows server installation, deployment & operational support
* Microsoft Active Directory Expertise
* Microsoft and DOD PKI Certificate Lifecycle Management
* Strong Macintosh server installation, deployment & operational support desired
* Strong Linux, Solaris server installation, deployment & operational support desired
* Key Pair generation tools & digital signature processes
* Understanding of Hardware Security Modules (HSM)
* Understanding of Applied Cryptography
* Understanding of Smartcard Technologies (ISO 7816, ISO 14443)
* Understanding of DOD PKI Technologies (X.509)
* Experience with data encryption deployments
* Ability to work independently
* Proven ability to master new technologies
* Strong decision making skills
* 7+ years of Security experience

Education and Certifications:

* Bachelor’s Degree Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
* Information Assurance Certification (one or more) – CISA, CISSP, GSE, SCNA, SCNP, SSCP

Preferred:
Ability to work and brief senior level decision makers and large audiences on IA policy and topics; familiarity with the Homeland Security Presidential Directive -12 and associated standards; familiarity with Army staffing procedures and organizational structure. Knowledge of the Army CAC-PKI Division Process and Procedures. Candidates that have already completed IA training and certification requirements, in accordance with DoDD 8570.1, appropriate for their years of IA management (IAM) experience, are strongly preferred.
